About ResizeMate

A small set of image tools built on one idea: resizing a photo should not require handing it to someone else's server.

Why this exists

Almost every free image tool online works the same way: you upload your photo, a server somewhere processes it, and you download the result. It works, but it means a stranger's machine holds a copy of your file — and for a passport scan, a bank statement or a photo of your child, that is a genuinely bad trade for something a browser can do on its own.

Modern browsers can decode, resize, crop, compress and re-encode images without any server involvement at all. ResizeMate is built on that capability. When you drop a photo into a tool here, the file is read from your disk into the page, processed by your own device, and handed back to you. It never travels over the network.

That design has a side effect worth mentioning: because there is no upload and no queue, results are effectively instant, and there is no reason to impose limits. No signup, no daily cap, no watermark, no paid tier. There is nothing to pay for because there is no server cost per image.

The one exception, stated plainly

PDF compression is the single tool here that is not browser-only. Genuinely recompressing a PDF — shrinking the images inside it while leaving the text as selectable text — needs a full PDF engine that a browser does not have. The honest alternative would be to redraw every page as a flat picture, which destroys the text and usually looks worse.

So Compress PDF uploads your file to our server, runs it through Ghostscript, returns the result and deletes the file immediately. We would rather tell you that clearly than quietly break your document. Every other tool on the site is genuinely local, and the tool pages say which is which.

Who builds it

ResizeMate is built and run by an independent developer, not a company with a sales team. That is why there is no live chat widget, no newsletter popup and no "book a demo" button.

It also means feedback reaches the person who can actually act on it. If a tool gives you a wrong result, misses a format you need, or a preset does not match the specification some form is demanding, tell us on the contact page — that is genuinely how most of these tools got added.

How it is paid for

The site is free and has no paid tier. Running costs are covered by advertising, which may be displayed on tool pages. Ads never see your images: the files are processed on your device and are not accessible to any advertiser or third party. See the privacy policy for exactly what is and is not collected.
