Resize PNG Images Online

Resize any PNG in seconds — set exact pixel dimensions or scale by percentage while keeping crisp edges and full transparency. Everything happens in your browser: your images are never uploaded.

To resize a PNG online, drop it in, set a width and height in pixels (or a percentage), and download. Transparency is preserved, quality stays sharp, and the file never leaves your browser.

How to resize a PNG

  1. Drop your PNG. Drop your PNG into the box above, or click to browse.
  2. Set the size. Type exact width/height in pixels, or pick a percentage. Keep "lock ratio" on to avoid stretching.
  3. Download. Your resized PNG saves instantly, transparency intact.

Keeping PNG transparency

Unlike JPG, PNG stores transparency in an alpha channel. ResizeMate preserves that channel, so logos, icons and cut-out graphics stay transparent after resizing instead of picking up a white box.

If your resized PNG suddenly has a white background, it was converted to JPG somewhere along the way — JPG has no way to store transparency, so it fills those pixels with white. Keep the output format as PNG, or use WebP if you need transparency in a smaller file.

Why is my PNG file so large?

PNG is lossless: it records every pixel exactly and compresses by finding repeated patterns rather than by discarding detail. That is excellent for flat colour, text and sharp edges, and wasteful for photographs, where almost no two neighbouring pixels are identical.

The usual culprits, in order of how much they cost you:

Need transparency and a small file? WebP supports both — see JPG to WebP, or set a target size on Compress Image.
