JEE & NEET Photo Size — 3.5 × 4.5 cm

Set your photograph to 3.5 × 4.5 cm — 413 × 531 pixels — for NTA engineering and medical entrance applications, and keep the file within 10–200 KB.

The JEE photograph is 3.5 × 4.5 cm, which is 413 × 531 pixels at 300 dpi, with the file between 10 KB and 200 KB. Apply the preset below and download.

How to resize a photo for the JEE or NEET form

  1. Add your photograph. A recent front-facing photo, plain background, no cap or dark glasses.
  2. Apply the 413×531 preset. That is 3.5 × 4.5 cm at 300 dpi.
  3. Download inside 10–200 KB. The target is preset to 200 KB, the top of the allowed range.

NTA issues a fresh information bulletin for every session of JEE Main, JEE Advanced and NEET, and the photo requirements are restated there. Treat the current bulletin as authoritative.

Some sessions ask for a photo with a date or name printed on it

Entrance-exam bulletins have at times required the candidate's name and the date the photograph was taken to appear on the image itself. This tool resizes and compresses; it does not add text.

If your bulletin asks for that, add the text before you resize — otherwise the text is scaled down along with everything else and can become unreadable at 413 × 531. Add it at full resolution, then bring the finished image here.

Why 200 KB is easy and 10 KB is not

A 413 × 531 photograph has about 220,000 pixels. At maximum JPG quality that typically lands well under 200 KB, so you can leave the quality slider high and still fit comfortably. There is no reason to compress aggressively.

The floor is the risk again: drop the quality too far and the file can fall under 10 KB and be rejected. Look at the size shown after processing, and raise quality if it is close to the bottom of the range.
