BCS Photo Size — 300 × 300 px, 100 KB

Bangladesh government job applications submitted through Teletalk need a 300 × 300 pixel colour photograph under 100 KB, and a 300 × 80 pixel signature under 60 KB. Set both here.

For a BCS or Teletalk application the photograph must be 300 × 300 pixels and no more than 100 KB, and the signature must be 300 × 80 pixels and no more than 60 KB. The photo must be in colour — greyscale is rejected.

How to resize a photo for a Teletalk application

  1. Add your photograph. A recent colour photo on a plain background.
  2. Tap the 300×300 preset. Crop to a square first so your face is not compressed.
  3. Download under 100 KB. Then switch to the 300×80 preset for your signature.

These are the specifications published on the Teletalk application validator, which is the portal Bangladesh government job applications actually run through. Circulars for individual posts sometimes add their own conditions, so read the one you are applying under.

Greyscale photos are rejected outright

This is the rule that catches people, and it is stated explicitly: a black and white, monochrome or greyscale photograph will not be accepted. Only a colour photo passes.

It matters because scanning an old printed photo, or using a phone filter, can quietly produce a greyscale image even when the original was in colour. If you are unsure, open the file and check there is real colour in the skin tones before uploading.

This tool never converts colour to greyscale — whatever colour information your source photo carries survives the resize.

A square photo and a very wide signature

The 300 × 300 photograph is a square, so a normal portrait photo needs cropping to 1:1 before resizing or the face ends up squashed. Use Crop with the ratio locked to 1:1.

The signature is the opposite problem: 300 × 80 is a wide, short strip at roughly 15:4. Sign large on white paper, photograph it straight on, then crop tightly so the signature fills that strip. A signature photographed with lots of surrounding paper becomes illegible once it is squeezed into 80 pixels of height.

Automated face checking means a sloppy photo fails early

The Teletalk system runs an automated facial check on the uploaded photograph rather than leaving it all to a human reviewer later. A photo where the face is small in the frame, turned away, in shadow or partly covered can be refused at the point of upload.

Frame your head and shoulders so the face fills a good share of the square, use even light, and skip caps and dark glasses. Getting the pixels right is the easy half; framing is what actually gets rejected.
